A System for Rating Wings

A useful rating is more than a number - it tells the next person what to expect. If you score every spot on the same few things, your reviews become genuinely helpful instead of just 'good' or 'bad'. Here is the simple system we use.

Four Things to Score

Rate each from one to five, then average them.

Crunch

Does the skin hold its texture, even under sauce? This is the single most common thing spots get wrong.

Sauce & seasoning

Is the flavor balanced and memorable, or one-note? Does the sauce cling, or pool at the bottom of the basket?

Meatiness

Plump, well-sourced wings versus scrawny ones. Size and quality of the bird matter more than people admit.

Value

Portion and quality for the price. A great wing at a fair price beats a slightly better one that costs twice as much.

Leave a Review That Helps

When you add a spot to the map, a one-line note on what to order and what to skip is worth more than a bare star rating. Specifics - 'get the dry rub, skip the boneless' - are what turn a map pin into a real recommendation.
